I highly recommend Reut as a birth doula. She was recommended warmly to my husband and me, and she met and exceeded our expectations.

From our first meeting, Reut impressed us with her warmth, courtesy, and knowledge about birth. She asked us to tell her what kind of birth we wanted, and she assured us that she would do her best to help us achieve it.

Reut inspired confidence in us through her unflagging support and her calm assurance that we could have a safe and satisfying birth. She listened carefully to our questions and concerns and responded thoughtfully and thoroughly, sometimes conferring with colleagues and other birth professionals. She was entirely reliable, answering calls and e-mails promptly, and arriving on time for all appointments. She shared her wealth of knowledge about labor, birth, and relaxation techniques.

When the day of our son's birth arrived, Reut was ready and helped us all along the way. She provided support over the phone when the first labor pains began, and came over when more direct support was needed. She went with us to the hospital and navigated our admission with courtesy and aplomb, while still providing full attention and encouragement. Our son made his entrance to the world with Reut at our side. We think it is largely due to her support and the confidence and calm that she inspired, that the birth was without complication, and distinguished by joy much more than fear.

I was impressed throughout by Reut's gentleness of word and touch; but even more I was impressed that she did not idealize the experience of birth but was very realistic and straightforward about what we might encounter. This was very helpful I think, and kept us grounded.

Even though my labor was so long (a total of 32 1/2 hours), you refused to leave my side.   You totally allowed my husband to be there for me in the best way he could, got the nurses to get us what we needed and kept both me, my husband and parents confident and calm. Reut’s help and compassion during my labor was amazing! I don’t think that I could have met my goal of a natural drug-free labor without her. She was so reassuring. I highly recommend Reut to any pregnant women, whether you are anxious about the delivery or not, because no matter what, she will do everything to make your dream delivery come true.

Reut assisted me with my second pregnancy. For my first pregnancy, I had attended childbirth classes but never felt the need for the "extra" support of a doula, I thought it was rather a new luxury or a new trend just like having a personal trainer or private chef. However, my labor ended in a C-section for the birth of my first baby and I was very disappointed not to have been able to deliver my baby naturally.

For my second pregnancy I absolutely wanted to avoid another C-section and I knew it would be a challenge given the pessimism of my doctor who said my chances of a VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean) were very slim. So it occurred to me that having a doula could actually help me delay the epidural as much as possible and manage the pain associated with the contractions in order to have the most efficient labor. I spoke to a few doulas before finding Reut's number and none of them made me feel comfortable even over the phone. After I met Reut, I immediately felt that she would understand my needs, my motivations and feelings and that she would support me without interfering with the doctors.

Because of the position of the baby and the fact that I would have to be induced, the perspectives of a VBAC were getting less and less realistic but Reut was always very reassuring and offering great advice, despite the fact that I may not even use her services if my doctor decided to do another C-section directly. Eventually, my doctor gave me a chance to deliver naturally so I called Reut literally at the last minute and she came to the hospital immediately. Her support throughout my labor was indispensable as she gave me all the strength I needed to deliver the baby naturally; her support was not only physical but also emotional. She massaged the areas that were painful and showed me positions to cope with the pain, and even more importantly, she kept encouraging me giving me all the confidence I needed not to give up.

Without Reut by my side, I don't think I could have delivered my second baby vaginally and I will forever be grateful to her for that. And even after the delivery, Reut stayed with me at the hospital for a few hours and thereafter she conscientiously followed up with calls and visits.
